The Code Mobile
The Code Mobile is Ladies Learning Code’s newest and biggest initiative to inspire and educate Canadian girls and boys to become passionate builders -- not just consumers of technology.
Think: a computer lab on wheels (Canada’s first coding truck)!
But, it’s more than just a truck or a computer lab. It’s a cross-Canada movement that brings hands-on, interactive technology education to Canadian youth. We believe that computer programming and other technical skills are a tool of empowerment, and it is our mission to ensure that all Canadians -- particularly women and youth -- have access to these learning opportunities.
In the Summer of 2016, we drove coast to coast with the Code Mobile and visited over 50 cities across Canada plus surrounding cities and towns based on community requests and taught over 11,000 kids to code.
And, we're just getting started!
Thanks to our generous partners the Code Mobile will continute to visit large cities and small towns, in privileged and underprivileged communities alike, stopping by at local parks, community centres, Summer Camps, street festivals, aboriginal reserves, hospitals and anywhere else we can park the truck and pop-up our lab.
